Part 1: Vocabulary words

1. Lie verb [lahy]
to be or place oneself at rest in a flat, horizontal position

7. attend verb [uh-tend]
to be present at
Example: She attended five meetings today.

8. blame verb [bleym]
to hold responsible; to place responsibility
Example: Some politicians blame the media for showing only the negative side.

9. bury verb [ber-ee]
to put in the ground, to place a dead body in a grave or a tomb
Example: She buried her pet’s dead body under the tree.

10. combine verb [kuhm-bahyn]
to unite; to join two or more things together
Example: They combined their teams to become stronger.
