Part 1: Vocabulary words

to indicate unwillingness to do, accept, give, or allow
■Example: They refused our dinner invitation.
9. suffer verb [suhf-er]
to feel pain or loss, injury, harm, or punishment
■Example: He suffered very bad pain from his injuries.
10. survive verb [ser-vahyv]
to remain alive or in existence in spite of a disaster, accident, etc.
■Example: Not all birds can survive the bad winter.
