1. smell verb [smel]

to sense or examine the scent of something by using the nose

◼ Example: The woman smells the red flowers.

2. turn verb [turn]

to rotate, to move around to open, close, tighten or loosen.

◼ Example: You have to turn the screws to open the box.

3. wish noun [wish]

a desire, longing for a specific thing

◼ Example: One of her wishes is to travel around the world.

4. arrive verb [uh-rahyv]

to reach a destination

◼ Example: My American friends will arrive at the Narita airport tomorrow.

5. cancel verb [kan-suhl]

to decide that something will not be done

◼ Example: Because of the bad weather, she cancelled her plan to watch a movie.

6. enter verb [en-ter]

to come or go into

◼ Example: The man entered the wrong hotel room.

7. happen verb [hap-uhn]

to take place, to do, be done by chance

◼ Example: A car accident happened near my house yesterday.

8. recommend verb [rek-uh-mend]

to praise or to suggest as being good

◼ Example: My friend recommended for me to buy a used car instead of a brand new car.

9. steal verb [steel]

to take or get the property of another without permission

◼ Example: A thief stole money and jewelry from our house last night.

10. throw verb [throh]

to send through the air with force

◼ Example: Did you throw the ball at the basket?
