1. Share verb [shair]

to divide among a number of people

◼ Example: I share the bedroom with my older sister.

2. Check verb [chek]

to see if something is correct, to inspect

◼ Example: My mother checks my homework every night.

3. Forget verb [fer-get]

to be unable to remember, fail to remember

◼ Example: I forgot my cousin’s age so I asked him again.

4. Guide verb [gahyd]

to show the way by leading, directing, or advising

◼ Example: My American friend guided me around San Francisco.

5. Hold verb [hohld]

to have and keep in one's hand or grip

◼ Example: My mother holds me whenever we cross the street.

6. Report verb [ri-pawrt, -pohrt]

to make or to present (usually official or formal)

◼ Example: The young employee reports the sales revenue for this month.

7. Return verb [ri-turn]

to go back to an earlier condition or place

◼ Example: After twenty years, Joseph returned to Japan from the U.S.A.

8. Seem verb [seem]

to appear, to have the feeling or imagine

◼ Example: My son seems healthy, but the doctor said that he needs more physical tests.

9. Train verb [treyn]

to guide or teach (to do something), as by subjecting to various exercises or experience

◼ Example: My father trains our dog to perform tricks.

10. Wait verb [weyt]

to remain or stay in expectation of
