Part 1: Vocabulary words

1. Impeccable adjective [im-pek-uh-buhl]

having no mistakes or faults; being perfect

◼ Example: She speaks impeccable Japanese.
◻ Note: It also means not capable of sin.

2. Pristine adjective [pris-teen, pri-steen; especially Brit. pris-tahyn]

completely pure and original; uncorrupted or unsullied by civilization

◼ Example: A team of scientists discovered a new species on an expedition to the pristine forests of southwest Suriname.
◻ Note: Usage: Some people consider the use of pristine to mean fresh, clean, and unspoiled to be incorrect, for example: pristine new car

3. Intangible adjective [in-tan-juh-buhl]

incapable of being perceived by the senses

◼ Example: According to studies, employees who receive intangible benefits often feel more appreciated and motivated to work harder.
◻ Note: In law it means a legal entity that has no material existence such as bank deposits, stocks, bonds, and promissory notes. It is often used in the plural.

4. Invincible adjective [in-vin-suh-buhl]

impossible to defeat or conquer

◼ Example: Gold medalist Denisse van Lamoen from Chile remains invincible.
◻ Note: Origin: From the Latin word invincibilis, which means not, while vincibilis means conquerable.

5. Incoherent adjective [in-koh-heer-uhnt, -her-]

having no logical or meaningful connection or cohesion

◼ Example: Many employees are complaining about the incoherent and inconsistent rules of the company.
◻ Note: Incoherent also means being unable to express yourself clearly or fluently.

6. Intermittently adverb [in-ter-mit-nt-lee]

stopping and starting again or at intervals

◼ Example: The doctor said that if you continue the therapy and the medicines work well, you will be able to walk and run intermittently soon.
◻ Note: (of streams, lakes, or springs) recurrent; showing water only part of the time

7. Sporadic noun [spuh-rad-ik]

occurring or happening at irregular intervals in time

◼ Example: She can hear sporadic gunfire in the corridor outside her house. If the incoming fire gets too close, she’ll use the escape routes from her house.
◻ Note: The word sporadic also means isolated or unique.

8. Omniscient adjective [om-nish-uhnt]

having complete or total knowledge, knowing or understanding everything

◼ Example: Human beings are not omniscient, but instead the human condition is full of uncertainty.
◻ Note: The word omniscient also means God when used with the article the.

9. Inquisitive adjective [in-kwiz-i-tiv]

given to inquiry or asking questions, eager for knowledge or showing curiosity

◼ Example: Marcii Beagley, the mother of Neil Armstrong, described her son as a strong and inquisitive child.
◻ Note: Word Origin: The word inquisitive comes from the Latin word inquisitivus, which means making inquiry.

10. Insatiable adjective [in-sey-shuh-buhl, -shee-uh-]

incapable of being satisfied or appeased

◼ Example: She has an insatiable love and desire for adventure. She always travels every month.
◻ Note: In means not (in + satiable).
