Part 1: Vocabulary words

1. travel verb [trav-uhl]

to go from one place to another, such as a trip or journey

◼ Example: I will travel to Singapore to see the attractions at Universal Studios.

2. invite verb [v. in-vahyt; n. in -vahyt]

to ask a person politely to come or attend to one's house, to a party, etc.

◼ Example: My friend invited me for dinner.

3. learn verb [lurn]

to get knowledge, to understand by studying or experiencing

◼ Example: I learned English grammar when I was a junior high school student.

4. tell verb [tel]

to say words, to inform or give information to a person about something

◼ Example: Please tell me the name of the capital of Japan.

5. need noun [need]

something important that one should have

◼ Example: Food is one of our basic needs in life.

6. Enjoy verb [en-joi]

to receive pleasure or satisfaction from

◼ Example: She enjoys eating delicious food.

7. grow verb [groh]

to increase in size, to develop, to become longer or bigger

◼ Example: Her hair grows so fast.

8. finish verb [fin-ish]

to arrive at the end, to come to an end, to complete

◼ Example: The class will finish after 25 minutes.

9. find verb [fahynd]

to see or meet without expectation or after searching or looking; to discover

◼ Example: I find an old book under the bed.

10. advise verb [ad-vahyz]

to give advice to, to recommend or suggest

◼ Example: The teacher advised the student to read the story twice to understand it better.
